Uni Module: Game Design 2

This module I had to make a narrative game using fungus flowcharts. I've never used fungus before do it was interesting to get used to the different way of interacting with the different Unity systems.

My idea changed a lot throughout this module however from the start I was inspired by Her story's experimental narrative design. I wanted to create a conversation system that would allow the player to type anything as if the player was themselves directing the flow of conversation and in turn self directing the emergence of narrative.

I think what was really successful about this project was the influence from different lines of conversation would change a player's decision when it came down to the final significant choice. A fundamental flaw is the fact that without word prompts players were reluctant to experiment past the words they'd been told about making the paths of conversation somewhat limited. To improve adding a synonyms system would encourage the players explorative approach because they wouldn't be punished for not typing exactly the right word.
